A Relic? Or a Hoax?

They call it the "unanswerable question." One that has had researchers on their toes for decades. The very fact that the Shroud of Turin has been analyzed this intensely for such a long period of time should be proof enough. Is the Shroud of Turin an authentic relic of Jesus Christ? Or is it merely a hoax designed to encourage belief in a particular religion? For now, answers to these complicated questions come down to personal beliefs and understandings.
Discovered bloodstained and empty in a limestone tomb a short while after is was allegedly placed there enclosing a body, this delicate piece of linen became a key trigger in a never-ending mystery. From the initial discovery, the cloth was treated with utmost awe and respect - churches built in its dedication. Stories have been passed on explaining how its mere presence was known to have cured even the sickest of men. Mere coincidence? No one knows. The Shroud of Turin traveled in and out of written history, and supposedly even traveled in and out of day-to-day life. It was hidden, stolen, and traded among men. This simple piece of linen traveled all through the Middle East, which leads to the first contradiction of whether our hard-evidence is even true! Who is to say that the blood on the shroud did not come from a peasant man carrying it from one city to another?
Yet even with all these facts, clues, and assumptions, the puzzle remains unsolved. Would our world be able to handle the answer to this mystery? If the Shroud of Turin was proven to actually have wrapped the crucified Jesus Christ… Do I believe in the Shroud of Turin? Do I want to believe? Do I need to believe? Yet again, another "unanswered" question.
